Every year on 1 December people all over the world take action to fight the spread of HIV. Why not show your support?
Crafty people!
The international symbol for HIV is a red ribbon. Show your support for people who are HIV-positive by making a red ribbon to wear:
1 Buy some ordinary red ribbon (1.5cm wide) and some small safety pins
2 Cut the ribbon into 15cm strips (ask an adult if you need help with the cutting)
3 Holding the ribbon strip in the middle, fold each corner diagonally downwards so that the two ends cross over each other in the middle
4 Put a small safety pin through the centre of the ribbon to hold it together and then pin it onto your clothes.
Why not make lots more ribbons and ask permission to sell them in school or at your local youth group? The money you raise will help Christian Aid’s work with people living with HIV. Make sure you tell everyone who buys a ribbon from you why it’s important to wear it.

A boat in South Africa with an amazing red ribbon on its sail shows support for people living with HIV! If you don't like drawing but are a whizz with words, you could write an article for your school magazine or write a letter to your local newspaper telling people what you have learnt and suggesting they buy a red ribbon to wear.

Become a global reporter and see your story on Global Gang! Everyone should also wear a red ribbon.
