Lauren lives in Manchester with her mum and little brother Jamie. Her dad lives in a village which is about an hour’s drive away and she goes to see him at the weekends. She likes these weekends best when Jamie doesn’t come because that’s when her dad takes her fishing.

Lauren would like to play football for Manchester City when she is older. She’d like it if there were football teams that had both women and men in them as she doesn’t think anyone takes any notice of how well women’s teams do!

She prefers sport to school, but enjoys Citizenship as it helps her to see how everything she learns in other lessons can help her make positive changes in the world.

Pippa is an Emperor Penguin. She used to live on an ice cap with the rest of her family, but it has melted in the last few years and they’ve all left. She’s very worried that people will keep polluting the atmosphere and that it will get so hot that there will be no ice left at all.
