Poem of the month, by Kayley Louise, 14, from England

We use new resources every day
Why don't we use recycled it's a much better way
Global warming is becoming a big issue
So why not recycle your cardboard and tissue
The world which we live in is far too hot
We need to do something to make this stop
We'll be buried in our own rubbish if we don't do something
Our beautiful world will look like a huge brown bin.

George, 10, from Matlock, England

This polythene bag,
Will last as long as the
mummies in the pyramids.

Hmmm,
Does that mean,
In thousands of years time,
People will queue up,
To see the polythene bag?

Anne, 9, from South Africa
Skies are blue
Clouds are grey
Help other people
Say hooray
Anna, 11, from England
The sea is blue
The stars are true
Why can't we help people
more than we do?
Eve, 8, from Redditch in England
We must protect our world,
it's all we've got.
Global warming is happening,
it's getting too hot.
We need to take action
to stop it fast.
Otherwise our world
and our earth will not last!
