Chart-topper Lemar went on a special trip to find out about Christian Aid’s work in Uganda in east Africa.

These children had to run away from their homes with their families to escape attack from the rebels He visited camps for people who had been forced to leave their homes during the 21 years of fighting between government soldiers and rebels, and met people who were being helped by Christian Aid partners YWAM, TEDDO and CPA.

'I knew there had been conflict in Uganda, but I didn’t know the depth of it and how bad things are,' says Lemar.

Lemar gets drumming with a youth group supported by Christian AID's partner CPA (Concerned Parents Association) in Gulu, northern Uganda. The group use music and songs to raise awareness about the effects of the war and to encourage people to forgive each other despite the fighting
