Keeping in touch with God...
Perhaps your parents use ‘sat nav’ in the car, to tell them where they're going. Some Muslims use satellite navigation to point them in the direction of Mecca, so they know which direction to pray in. And set reminders for prayer times!

Do you have ideas about how technology could help your faith? Or do you think faith and technology are worlds apart?
The Mbendjele people from the Congo (a country in Central Africa) are using satellite mapping to record where their sacred trees are in the rainforest. They want to protect their land and stop companies cutting the trees down.

In Asia, some Chinese families get a text each night, telling them what would be lucky for them to do the next day, a bit like a horoscope and based on the movements of the moon. This is called a 'lunar almanac'.
Techno kids
In some African countries, kids are given laptops which don't need electricity – instead they have a wind-up crank and are bright green! This is part of a project that aims to give children in poor countries the same chance to use technology as children in rich countries.

Clever inventions can help people prepare for natural disasters like floods, too. Christian Aid helps people put early warning systems in place, to warn people when a disaster is coming and help them stay safe. A simple radio means that 'disaster monitors' can listen out for bad weather and then drive around to small villages and communities to tell people to get prepared.

Faith in the future

Whether you have a religion or not, we hope you have faith in the idea that one day the world will be a fair place for all children, everywhere, to live in.

You can use technology to make a difference, by checking out Global Gang, looking out for the 'Action station' boxes, and telling your friends about the site.
